I recently had a misfire in cylinder 3, no fuel leaked onto the plug. However if you don't see fuel on the plug that doesn't mean that the injector is not the problem. Obviously if you see fuel on the plug the injector is leaking. When you decide to swap around plugs, do it after the car was sitting overnight.Ĭheck cylinder 3 and 5 plugs for fuel. Will the dealer be able to tell its injector with simple a diagnostic? Or will they give me the run around playing musical spark-plugs/coils before they bite? I can do most of the labor myself (once I get some proper tools), so I don't want to pay to have them mess around. I want to claim warranty as the car is 7yr/55K. Walnut was done ~20K ago, so I am more or less confident its one of the injector or fuel pump. I am leaning towards injector, carbon build up, or maybe fuel pump. But I doubt two plugs 1 cylinder apart could be failing. Didn't touch the plugs yet as I didn't have the proper extension. ![]() I already swapped coils from 34 and 56, and still misfires on 3/5 so its not the coils for sure. Spark Plugs and Coils are newish ~6mo (NGK + Eldor). ![]() Car threw a Service Engine Soon light, so I read the codes using MHD.Ģ9CC - DME : Combustion Misfires, several cylindersĢ9CF - DME: Combustion Misfires, cylinder 3Ģ9D1 - DME: Combustion Misfires, cylinder 5
